Chapter Activities Award of Excellence
PURPOSE
This award is given to recognize local chapters for their outstanding activities and program of work. It is also meant to motivate all local chapters to work towards an outstanding program of activities.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Applications will be scored using this rubric.
Required activities include:

- One of these required award applications must be submitted (applicant is not required to win the award but must complete a qualified activity in the award category)
- BPA Marketing and Public Relations Activity (minimum one activity)
- Community Service Award (minimum of one activity with a total of 100 hours and/or $500.00 donated dollars)
- Activity descriptions for one of the following awards (applicant is not required to win award, but must complete a qualified activity in one of the award categories)
- Special Olympics (minimum of one activity)
- Safety Awareness (minimum of one activity)
- Environmental Action/Awareness (minimum of one activity)
- An activity description relating to EACH of the following activities:
- Local officer installation
- Local officer training
- A BPA Leadership Conference attended by your chapter (regional, state, or national)
- Chapter social activity
- Local chapter budget
- A career development related activity for your chapter (examples include seeing a speaker, watching a film, taking a field trip...)
- Applicants may only count activities in the cares program once.
- Activity descriptions must not exceed 500 words and must include the title, project details, date of project completion, location of project, and a description of the project.
- Chapters may complete more than one activity to equal the required number of hours/dollars.
ELIGIBILITY
To be considered for the Chapter Activities Award of Excellence applicants must:
- Be in good standing with Business Professionals of America
- Be a member in the Middle Level, Post-Secondary, or Secondary Division
APPLICATION GUIDELINES
All applications must be submitted online here. All applications are due April 1st, 2018.
- Submissions must include all activity descriptions and will not be accepted if they are only partially completed.
- The online submission form should not be started until all activities are completed
- Applications will NOT be submitted through mail or email.
- Applications may not be submitted together, as part of another application, or with technical projects for competitive events.
RECOGNITION
A plaque will be presented to each qualifying chapter on stage at the National Leadership Conference.
Applicants are not required to attend the National Leadership Conference in order to receive their award.
