Marketing and Public Relations Award
PURPOSE
The Marketing and Public Relations Award intends to promote the image of Business Professionals of America and it's members as well as inform the public on the purpose and goals of the organization. The also exists to encourage the creation of media promotions such as chapter newsletters and websites which are created to promote BPA as well as encourage the organization of membership recruiting efforts and activities among local chapters.
GENERAL INFORMATION
- Activities may only be counted once
- As a chapter, multiple activities may be completed to reach the dollar or hour requirement
- Submission descriptions may not exceed a total of 500 words and must include a title, project details, date of project completion, location of the project, and a description of the project
- Possible activities include:
- any activity which promotes BPA in your school or community
- any activity which builds good public relations and is reported in the media (document media release)
- the creation of a chapter newsletter which can be distributed in your school or community (outside chapter membership, include document distribution)
- the creation of a chapter website promoting the chapter and/or BPA members (document website)
- any organized chapter membership recruiting activity
ELIGIBILITY
In order to be considered for the award, applicants must:
- Maintain the status of good standing with the Business Professionals of America
- Be a member of the Middle Level, Post-Secondary, or Secondary Division
- Have completed a minimum of one activity which:
- promoted the image of BPA and it's members, informs the public of the meaning and objectives of BPA, encourages the creation of media promotions (such as chapter newsletters and websites promoting BPA), and/or encourages organized chapter membership recruiting efforts/activities.
APPLICATION GUIDELINES
- Application must be submitted by April 1st in order to be valid. (applications are submitted here)
- Application must be submitted online
- Application should be filled out only when all activities are completed and cannot be partiality completed or combined with others.
- Activities submitted must be completed between April 2nd, 2017 and April 1st 2018 (11:58 PM EST)
- Application may NOT be submitted by mail or email (click here to view submission details)
- Each award must be submitted separately from one another and separate from technical projects for competitive events
RECOGNITION
Chapters completing the minimum number of activities will receive a Certificate of Achievement. Chapters completing five or more activities will receive an Award of Achievement and recognition on-stage at the National Leadership Conference.
Chapters are not required to attend the National Leadership Conference to participate in the program or receive an award.
